Will Chrome OS Overtake And Replace Windows OS?
Unlikely, the problem with Chromium OS is the simplicity of the OS. Computers are now divided into consumer and creator. Chromium OS and Chromebooks are neither good at consuming contents nor good at creating content.
As noble as the idea is, Chromium OS will be yet another operating system like Ubuntu Linux. The other drawback is the need for internet access to be able to use Chrome OS, yes, some Apps do run offline but not all. Chromebooks are like laptop that runs on one software and that is Chrome Browser, perhaps it is too advance in today’s age, I personally believe this is the future but not yet. Until the day everyone on earth have access to stable, cheap and 24/7 unlimited internet access, Chrome OS will never see the light of the day.

With the latest update to Chrome, Google has launched a new rounded square icon for the browser on macOS. However, it seems another icon redesign is on the way with Google teasing some potential icons for Chrome to better match the design language of macOS Big Sur.
Google Chrome version 87 launched today on Windows and macOS, bringing a host of new features, but the most immediately noticeable change was a new icon for macOS, partially themed to the style of Big Sur. Matching the style of the icon of Chrome for iOS, the new icon simply places the standard Google Chrome icon into a rounded square with a white background.
To make Chrome look and feel more at home on macOS Big Sur, Google seems to be working on a more significant redesign of the browser’s icon. On Twitter this evening, Elvin Hu, a member of Google Chrome’s design team, shared three potential designs to add a flair of Big Sur’s “neumorphism.”
Preparing (What You Need) Calibre 5 and DeDRM plugin v7.1.0 (Or dedrm v6.8.1 for calibre 4). Calibre is an eBook manager that helps you organize your eBook collection, perform conversions between different eBook formats and synchronize the content of the program's database with that of some eBook reading devices. As an eBook manager, Calibre lets you sort your eBook collection by title, author, date, publisher, rating, size, and series. In order to show calibre in a different language, open the preferences (by pressing ⌘+P) and select your language. If you are using macOS older than 10.14 (Mojave), the last version of calibre that will work on your machine is 3.48, available here. Calibre itself does not run on the iPhones/iPad, but you can connect to calibre running on your mac, read books and manage your library in several ways. The easiest way to transfer books wirelessly to your iPhone/iPad is to use the Calibre Companion iOS app. Calibre Companion allows calibre to connect to your iPhone/iPad wirelessly, just as though you had plugged it in with a USB cable. The Calibre reader, like other applications on your Mac, is a complex software tool, which consists of a large number of support files. It has an executable file (.app) that is used to launch the program. It also creates lots of service files, which are stored in hidden folders on your disk. Is calibre safe for mac.
The first design is exactly what you can see as of today’s Chrome 87 release on macOS, while the latter two use light and shadow in different ways to create a sense of depth. The tweet is intended as a way to open the floor to community feedback on which direction makes the most sense.
Elsewhere on Twitter, Alex Ainslie, head of design for Google Chrome, briefly shared about the delicate balance of keeping each of Chrome’s logos across various platforms feeling consistently “Chrome-y,” “Google-y,” and “OS-y” — meaning it matches the design language of a particular operating system.
Todoist for note taking. One of my favorite things about making @googlechrome for ChromeOS, Mac, Windows, Linux, Android, and iOS is that we get to negotiate how to be 1) Chrome-y and 2) Google-y and 3) OS-y all at the same time.
So, in your opinion, which of these three potential icons for Google Chrome best suits the design language of macOS Big Sur? Let us know in the comments.
